Blogpost 1: What is Tattoo

What is a Tattoo?

Hi this is Eldrin, today I will be talking about tattoos, when you hear tattoos what comes to your mind? someone says that it is a designed to your body by using needle to put the ink inside the first layer of your skin or they called it dermis. Did you know that tattoos in also the form of art and culture?

When did tattoos started? According to Ms. Lineberry, Cate "the earliest known examples were for a long time Egyptian and were present on several female mummies dated to c. 2000 B.C. But following the more recent discovery of the Iceman from the area of the Italian-Austrian border in 1991 and his tattoo patterns, this date has been pushed back a further thousand years when he was carbon-dated at around 5,200 years old." http://www.smithsonianmag.com/history-archaeology/tattoo.html#ixzz2hGzVJiPg

Tattoos has began way back before B.C so Egyptian is the first who started tattooing in their body as their culture and also as the form of art. Tattoos can be also classified as a position or rank of the individual people, they say that if you achieve something important. According to Ms. Whitmore, Robbie " All high-ranking Māori were tattooed, and those who went without tattoos were seen as persons of no social status."http://history-nz.org/maori3.html

Do you think tattoos nowadays can be describe as a beauty of art or it is a art of power?
We will talk about that in my next post! See you!
